Questions & Answers

Q: How often should you wax your vehicle?

A: Your vehicle should be waxed every 3 months.  Just think of having your vehicle waxed at the change of every season.  This will put layers of protection on the paint to help protect it against the sun, acid rain, bugs, bird droppings, and many other damaging elements.  Just think of protecting your vehicle’s finish like you would your skin. If you don’t put lotion on your skin, it will become dried and cracked. When you do put lotion on it, it makes it smooth and gives your skin a healthy glow. This is what waxing your car will do for your paint finish.

Q: Why does it look like there are still bugs on the front of my bumper     even after I wash it?

A: This goes back to waxing your vehicle on a regular basis, if you don’t have any layers of wax on the paint finish, when the bugs splatter on the paint the acid from the bugs stomach will burn through the clear coat.  If you have layers of wax on the bumper, the bug guts have to penetrate through the layers of wax before it can get to the paint.

Q: Can oxidation be removed?

A: Yes, compounding can remove oxidation.

Q: I wash my car through the automatics and now my car has scratches all over it and the paint looks dull.  Why is it getting worse and worse when I wash it all the time?

A: Automatic car washes clean a large amount of vehicles on a daily basis; the brushes will tend to hold dirt from the other vehicles.  That dirt will now be rubbing against your paint.  So, not only do you have to worry about the brushes scratch the paint but now you have to worry about the dirt from the other vehicle.  How many times do you see someone cleaning off the brushes in the automatics during a busy day?

Q: Is the touch free automatics safer than the brush automatics?

A: Touch free automatics are just as bad; just imagine how strong that soap is to get the dirt off of your vehicle without touching it.  You wouldn’t stand in the shower and put body wash on and expect it to clean your body without scrubbing it.  Touch free automatics will usually turn your wiper arms and black moldings grey.
